Floral Designer & Customer Service Rep Opportunity at True Flowers, Oakville

4-7.5 hour shifts, 2-3 days a week, Part time 

True Flowers is a small retail flower boutique located in downtown Oakville, specializing in custom floral designs for everyday occasions, events, and business.  We are looking for a part time floral designer/customer service rep (2-3 days/week) to join our team.

Previous floral experience and/or CIFD or other formal floral training is required. 

Wage: $18.00/hour

General Duties:

Provide excellent customer service to walk-in customers and over the phone.  This includes taking detailed orders, processing cash and credit card sales, designing, assembling and wrapping customer orders as required, sometimes while the customer waits.

Processing and organizing of incoming flower shipments and greens.

Help maintain the shop as needed (merchandising, preparing supplies, cleaning etc)

Plant and maintain orchids and other plants.

Help unload incoming floral shipments.

Opening and closing the store.

Assist with other day-to-day operations of the business as required (organizing orders, managing delivery logistics, maintaining inventory, etc) 

Qualifications & Requirements:

Must be able to work Saturdays

Previous floral experience and/or CIFD or other formal floral training is required

Experienced in a retail sales environment, with excellent customer service skills

Excellent time-management, organizational and problem-solving skills.  Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and work well under pressure

Proficient in spoken and written English with clear handwriting

Able to work while standing for most of the day, able to lift up to 50lbs (buckets, large arrangements, boxes of flowers etc)

Must be available to work extended hours in December, around Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day for our busy seasons, and to cover staff vacation as needed
